PNIA 2020 Sustainable Development Goals Report
The Philippine Nickel Industry Association (PNIA) is inviting you to attend its 4th episode of the Nickel Initiative Webinar Series entitled “Global Goals, Local Actions: Sustainability as Our Way of Life in Nickel Mining” on the 20th of October, 2021 at 2PM via Zoom.
The webinar episode will feature messages from DENR Secretary Roy A Cimatu, Undersecretary Jim O. Sampulna, and MGB Director Wilfredo G. Moncano, and will be attended by PNIA Chairman Ferdinand M. Pallera, PNIA President Atty. Dante R. Bravo, and will be moderated by PNIA Executive Director Ms. Charmaine Olea – Capili.
The open forum discussion will be moderated by Dr. Robin Garcia of the University of Asia and the Pacific, and will be joined by Asec. Nonita S. Caguioa of the DENR and Dr. Bernie Villegas of UA&P.
The webinar will discuss the SDG report of PNIA and the association’s accomplishments in line with sustainability initiatives and programs.
Overview: The fourth episode of Nickel Initiative: Talks and Webinars Series will feature the launch of PNIA’s 2020 Sustainable Development Goals Report entitled “Global Goals. Local Actions. Sustainability as Our Way of Life.” As an industry, PNIA is progressively looking for ways on how to improve the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of its social development, environment protection and inclusive economic development programs. The goal is to ensure that these investments and initiatives generate meaningful and sustainable impact to its host communities and the country’s economy. Aligning with the UN SDGs is the clear and logical next step for PNIA as these universal goals provide a clear direction and roadmap on how all sectors of society can synergize efforts towards the elimination of all forms of poverty, to reach the furthest behind first, and to create sustainable, resilient communities.
