Marcventures Mining and Development Corporation (MMDC) donated food packs and other basic needs to the residents and frontliners of Carrascal, Cantilan and Madrid.
Through its Social Development and Management Program (SDMP), MMDC gave out food packs containing rice, canned goods and noodles to the residents of all three municipalities.
This relief operations have reached 700 families in Barangay Cabangahan, 340 families in Barangay Cabas-an both located in the municipality of Cantilan, and 175 senior citizens and PWDs in Barangay Panikian in the municipality of Carrascal.
The company also provided assistance to the frontliners stationed in all 23 check points. They were given Vitamin C, anti-bacterial soaps, hand sanitizers, face masks and food packs.
MMDC has also implemented a detailed Mine Site Operations Manual on Safety Protocols in Surigao del Sur specifically targeted to comply with the government directives aimed at controlling and preventing the spread of the Covid-19 virus.
The Manual includes step by step processes and prevention protocols like enhanced health procedures such as regular temperature check for employees, contractors and visitors entering and leaving the premises, strict cleanliness and sanitation practices including mandatory handwashing, social distancing and alcohol disinfection and the use of Personal Protective Equipment for employees and contractors, loading and receiving cargo, among others.
