Platinum Group Metals Corporation (PGMC) in partnership with PhilExport Caraga, spearheaded a 3-day On-The-Job Training on Chips Making at Barangay Cagdianao Skills Training Center, Cagdianao, MUNICIPALITY OF CLAVER.
Attended by 50 females composed primarily of marginalized residents of the barangay and seasonal workers of PGMC, the trainees were taught on how to process banana and sweet potatoes into crispy chips. The training included procedures on peeling, slicing, rinsing, draining, frying, sweetening until packaging were demonstrated. PGMC also provided the project the machines needed for production.
The training aimed to develop the entrepreneurial and labor skills of the participants as well as how to make these products more marketable. Finished products from the 3 days activity were bought by PhilExport Caraga to be displayed and sold to their store in Robinsons Mall in Butuan.
